NEW EXPERIMENTAL POP MUSIC PROJECT "FOLGA" IS OFFICIALLY OUT
So happy to release my new project Folga and its first single "Moon" to the world. I wrote this song while passing through an identity crisis some years ago. It kept me company while I was lingering in this limbo state and revealed something I needed to learn from this experience. The song is available on all major platforms and can be listened here. I am grateful to a very talented producer and my friend @constantine.chistiakov who rendered Moon as glimmering minimalistic electronica, built on a nuanced, fine and organic sound.

The video for the song was inspired by the idea of insight, imagined as sacred light, hidden from a stranger’s eyes and gradually growing while I undergo my intimate transformation.

Concept and production - Olga Kozmanidze;
Editing, VFX and color grading - Constantine Chistiakov

SENTIRE PROJECT RECEIVED FUNDING BY BMBF

Finally it's official and I am very happy to share this news: Sentire project received funding by the German Federal Ministry of Education and research (BMBF) for the research at the Humboldt University Berlin. This is a huge opportunity for the project. It will help us to further develop our interactive system, to investigate its usage in the context of music therapy and somatic practices and to carry out our research on an academic level.
By applying the method of structured observation, I will contribute to “real world” research, examining in which way the Sentire system influences the subjects using it. I will also be responsible for the development of the Übungskatalog and the workshop comprising different interaction and movement strategies, that could be applied by the professionals (e.g. movement and music therapists) depending on the clients and their conditions.

DIE REIHE: INTERACTING WITH BODY, ELECTRONICS AND SPACE

Sentire team is giving a talk and presenting a demo of our participatory performance at “Interacting with Body, Electronics and Space” symposium.
“Interacting with Body, Electronics and Space is a two day event of discourse, performance and demonstrations. Atau Tanaka, currently Edgard-Varèse Guest Professor at Technical University Berlin, and Henrik von Coler, director of the Electronic Music Studio at the TU, invite researchers, emerging as well as international artists in order to approach the questions which emerge in the field of musical interaction through technical means and the concept of embodiment. How does the body act in space through sound? How might technology mediate this? How do we create new means of interaction and what musical or performative acts result from these developments?”

MAVOtek Part IV
performance by Tomomi Adachi mit Breeda CC & Kareth Schaffer
Taking part at "MAVOtek Part IV", a series of performances, started in 2012, by Japanese performer and composer Tomomi Adachi. It is dedicated to the Japanese Dada movement group MAVO which was led by Tomoyoshi Murayama in the 1920s.
The performance by Adachi, the puppet artist Breeda CC, dance artist Kareth Schaffer and additional performers largely develops out of the man-machine aesthetics of the 1920s, a culmination of the avant-garde in the eras of Taisho democracy in Japan and Weimar culture in Germany and also a harbinger of the body politics in the Fascist regimes in both Japan and Germany.

ENHANCED SENSING
conference on cognition and human-technology interaction, particularly in relation to movement and sound
Founders of Sentire project, Olga Kozmanidze and Marcello Lussana initiate "Enhanced sensing conference" in order to create a frame for discussion on cognition and on human-technology Interaction, particularly in relation to movement and sound. It is also a platform initiated by the Sentire project to exchange ideas and experiences.
Cognition is now considered as a dynamic interplay of individual bodily and environmental processes, with the brain as a mediator of that interplay (Fuchs, 2011). How can interactive technology (such as Sentire) contribute to this interplay and enhance human sensing? In which way can interactive technology develop cognitive sensory abilities?
